It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for couples to walk back through our doors and celebrate their love with the special people in their lives. One of our first couples to get married after the long lockdown days were Emma & Sam. They had been through a lot on the road to their wedding day and finally were able to enjoy their beautiful day with us.

We caught up with the lovely Emma a few weeks after her day to reflect on their wedding journey.

1. What made you choose The White Hart?

We were originally due to get married abroad but due to Covid we had to rethink our plans and decided to get married locally. We went to look at lots of venues and we loved the White Hart as soon as we arrived, we loved both the outdoor area and the Moorwood suite, it was perfect.”

2. What did your wedding dress look like and where was it from?

“My Dress was a Stella York dress, it was a fitted lace dress with side and back detailing in the shade Latte, I loved the nude latte colour it was different to everything else I tried.”

3. What were your wedding day essentials that others might forget?

A sewing kit and scissors these in very handy getting ready in the morning and I would recommend eating a good breakfast, our ceremony wasn’t till 2pm so it was going to be a while till we ate again”

4. Who was your wedding co-ordinator?

Our coordinator was Millie, she was great and really helped us through all the date changes etc.”

5. What was your favourite moment of your day?

Its so hard to pick as we loved the whole day, but the drinks reception and canapes outside was one of our favourite parts, the weather was beautiful and we had lots of time to chat with all out guests and have our photographs taken.”

6. Did you write your own vows?

“We did and I would highly recommend, it made our ceremony so much more personal.”

7. What did your do for your hen do?

“We should have been in Vegas, but again Covid ruined that plan, instead my Bridesmaids planned a fabulous garden party and turned my house into a casino….all the restrictions definitely made me realise its who is there that’s important not where you go. It was perfect and we had so much fun.”

8. Where did you meet your partner?

We met online on a dating app…. there was lots of swiping jokes throughout the speeches.”

9. How did restrictions affect your day?

We had to reduce our guest list to 30 people, but on the wedding day we hardly noticed any restrictions and we are so glad after 4 attempts we went ahead with

our day.”

10. What was your inspiration for your wedding styling?

“I spent a lot of time on Pinterest to get ideas and made mood boards of different themes and colour schemes, which helped me narrow down all my ideas. We went for white with lots of greenery throughout.”

It’s wonderful to hear how much Emma & Sam enjoyed their wedding day with us. Despite the challenges of planning a wedding in the pandemic, they are a great example of how you can plan and enjoy your day despite restrictions. Well done to both of you for your hard work in planning the day of your dreams and thank you for your patience throughout the pandemic.

We wish you both all the best for the future!
