Nichola and Richard said ‘I do’ at The White Hart on 20th July this year. Their love story spans twenty years so we were honoured to host their wedding day, which was the perfect start to their Happily Ever After.

A couple of months on from their wedding day, we caught up with Nicki to hear all about their day and their journey to tying the knot.

We met twenty years ago but got reacquainted in 2016. In 2018 Richard proposed on a deserted island in the middle of the Atlantic called paradise island. We immediately started planning.

We had viewed around 4-5 different venues before I stumbled on The White Hart on Instagram. The I do Wednesday deal also caught my eye. We arranged a viewing.

As soon as we walked in we knew we had found the perfect place. The White Hart is just so beautiful with beautiful views and surroundings. We met with a wedding co-ordinator who gave us all the information we needed. Food and prices etc. We went for a meal in the restaurant and booked our wedding there and then and cancelled other venues we had viewing appointments with. One other venue offered to match The White Hart’s price!”

“We originally booked for 23/12/20 but Covid hit! We then had back up dates of April May and October! So after 3 postponements we finally managed to get married on the 20/7/21. Our wedding co ordinator Millie was a life saver when I was feeling deflated about all the postponements and losing any excitement about the wedding, she instilled hope back in to us. She made us feel excited again!

The Executive Manager, Luke offered free toasting drinks which was a lovely touch. Millie was on hand from beginning to end either via email or phone calls and just made sure everything ran smoothly on the day.”

We hired extras from The White Hart- the bouncy castle and ball pit, which the children thoroughly enjoyed! We also hired the tee-pee* just in case restrictions prevented from dancing inside, we could dance outside.

Our venue stylist was True Love Lights Your Way, we decided on a simple candle and white theme. She made it look so elegant it took our breath away when we saw it. She also stayed until after the meal to move some decorations into the tee-pee*”

We had a magician, Michael Pride, who mingled with guests after the wedding breakfast- the adults and children were amazed by him.

Our band was Daniel Sam’s who played on the terrace after the breakfast and moved into the tee pee for the nights entertainment. We hired the ice cream cart for the children too from The White Hart. We found if you keep the kids happy the adults can relax and enjoy and that’s exactly what happened.”

Our cake was made from the Pantry Door and it was beautiful, better than I could ever imagine. Our photographer was 1st class wedding photographer. The make up artist was Make Up by Jenni and Hair by Samantha Ashley. Our favours were cookies used as place names by Sweet Enchanted

“We literally had the best day of our lives. All the guests loved every aspect of the day from the wedding breakfast, venue and pizzas in the evening.

The White Hart is our favourite place and since booking we have stayed many times in the hotel and we know we can’t wait to visit again.”

“Thank you does not cover how magical our day was, you are all amazing”

With thanks to Nicki & Richard for their comments and for allowing us to share photographs of their day! Thank you to 1st Class Wedding Photography for the images.
